To ensure that all students receive the resources and options that they need after experiencing a traumatic incident, 基督教社会联盟DH staff, 教师, and student employees are required to notify the Office of 股本 and Inclusion about all incidents that fall under the umbrella of sexual misconduct, 性侵犯, 性骚扰, 约会暴力, 家庭暴力, 和被人跟踪.

Below are some helpful tips to guide conversations with members of the 基督教社会联盟DH community that have disclosed or may disclose incidents of this nature:

1. “Are you safe right now?”
  • If they are not safe, call 911 or the 基督教社会联盟DH警察 Department 24 hours a day at (310) 243-3333. 
  •  基督教社会联盟DH Confidential Advocate at the Center for Advocacy, Prevention, and Empowerment (CAPE) can assist with safety planning or safety measures, such as restraining orders, 相貌平平订单, 和住宿; 电话: (310) 243-2567.
  • 的 Office of 股本 and Inclusion can assist with university-related safety measures, such as University No-Contact Orders and 大学的宿舍 accommodations; 电话: (310) 243-3492.
2. " Thank you for trusting me. As an employee at 基督教社会联盟DH, I need to notify the Office of 股本 & Inclusion about the information that you share with me." 
  • Tell the student, staff, or 教师 member that because 所有员工, 教师, and student employees are responsible to report incidents to the Office of 股本 and Inclusion to ensure that the 基督教社会联盟DH community is safe, you will need to provide the information they disclose to the the Office of 股本 and Inclusion, either by filling out the online 制作报告表格 or by calling at (310) 243-3492.  然而, you can tell them that the 第九条 Officer will keep this information as private as possible and that your identifying information will not be disclosed unless someone has a need to know the information.
  • You can help the them access a confidential resource such as the confidential 提倡角基督教社会联盟DH 心理服务, 大洛杉矶女青年会, or 苏之家.
3. “我能帮什么忙??”
  • Listen with empathy and thank them for trusting you. Validate and empathize with their feelings and concerns, mirroring their language. Be survivor-centered and support their decisions about what steps to take next.
4. “I want to make sure that you know all of the resources available to you.”
  • Provide them with on and off campus resources, 包括医疗帮助, 宣传, 咨询, academic accommodations, and the option to report to the college and the police. 
  • You can also recommend that they make an appointment with the Confidential Advocate at the 基督教社会联盟DH Center for Advocacy, Prevention, and Empowerment (CAPE).

Faculty may wish to provide information to students regarding their reporting requirements at the beginning of their course so that students may make informed decisions about disclosures. For this reason, we recommend that 教师 use our 股本 & 第九条 Syllabus Statement (2021- 2022年更新).

*Certified 性侵犯 and 家庭暴力 Counselors and Advocates as well as licensed clinical social workers, mental health counselors, marriage and family therapists, psychologists and psychiatrists working in that role at 基督教社会联盟DH are confidential and are not responsible to notify the Office of 股本 and Inclusion about incidents reported to them.
